Summon your scream squad and you might survive eight terrifying haunted houses, the Terror Tram, sinister scare zones, live entertainment and exhilarating attractions. Event is select nights September–October.

The studio that spawned the original monster movie genre, once again, breathes new life into your darkest nightmares, bringing deeper fears and more hair-raising encounters to all-new immersive worlds of the living, the dead, and the in-between.

From some of the most haunting moments in film and television come eight terrifying haunted houses:

  • Evil Dead Rise | An ancient curse arises in an L.A. apartment building. Evil has come as the Book of the Dead unleashes unimaginable horrors on you and your scream squad.

  • Stranger Things 4 | Take on the scariest season of Netflix's Stranger Things yet as your squad bands together to resist Vecna's gruesome curse.

  • The Exorcist: Believer | Witness a chilling chain of events as you enter the most terrifying scenes from the new Blumhouse film.

  • The Last of Us™ | Encounter the haunting and overgrown world of Naughty Dog’s video game in a brand-new, terrifying way, as you make your way through an abandoned Pittsburgh.

  • Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count | The serial-killer doll is back and he's hijacked his own haunted house. Try to survive his ultimate kill count.

  • Universal Monsters: Unmasked | Face a new horde of monsters in the catacombs: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the Phantom of the Opera, the Hunchback of Notre Dame and the Invisible Man.

On select nights from September to October, Universal Studios Hollywood is transformed into L.A.'s most terrifying Halloween experience, filled with haunted walk-through attractions, intense scare zones, roaming scare-actors, and nightmare-inducing rides, shows and attractions.

Universal Studios Hollywood is located in Los Angeles, California right off the 101 (Hollywood) Freeway, approximately 10 minutes north of Downtown Los Angeles. You can exit either Universal Studios Boulevard or Lankershim Blvd.

How much is parking?

Daily parking fees per vehicle (subject to availability): - General Parking Before 5pm - $30 - General Parking After 5pm - $10 - Preferred Parking Before 5pm - $50 - Preferred Parking After 5pm - $20 - Front Gate Parking - $70 Valet parking standard rates: - $25 for First 2 Hours - $50 after 2 Hours *Parking rates may change without notice.

What age is appropriate for Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood?

There is no age minimum for the event. However, this event is recommended for mature audiences only. Parents with children under the age of 13 are strongly encouraged to reconsider visiting this event with their children. They will be exposed to extremely adult material.

What are the guidelines for this event?

- Universal Hollywood does not allow guests to wear costumes, masks and/or face paint. - Line jumping will result in expulsion from the park and place-holding in line is not permitted. - Touching, pushing, or hitting any Scareactors is strictly prohibited. - No weapons of any kind are permitted. Any item that resembles a weapon or is manufactured in the shape of a weapon will not be permitted.

Can I bring food and drinks into the park?

No outside food or beverages are permitted. However, many of the park's restaurants will be offering themed food and drinks, so bring your appetite.

Is alcohol served at the event?

Alcohol will be served at select locations during certain hours, subject to availability. Outside drinks are not permitted at Universal Studios Hollywood during Halloween Horror Nights. Must be age 21+ with a valid state or government ID to purchase/consume alcohol. IDs will be checked.

Can I take photos?

No recording, flash photography, flashlights or laser pens are permitted in the haunted houses.

Can I leave the event and come back?

Sorry, re-entry is not permitted.

Are there any restrictions to going through the haunted houses?

The haunted houses contain loud sounds, sudden movements, and effects that may be too intense for children. Parental discretion is advised. Expectant mothers and persons with the following conditions should not experience the haunted houses: - Heart Conditions or Abnormal Blood Pressure - Medical Sensitivity to Strobe Effects - Medical Sensitivity to Fog Effects - Fear of Enclosed Spaces

Is this event wheelchair accessible?

Accessible routes and access for guests in wheeled mobility devices are provided throughout the park. Many rides, shows, attractions, escalators, and parking structures are designed to accommodate guests in wheelchairs and other disabilities comfortably. For details, visit Guest Relations located at the park's front entrance.

Are wheelchairs available to rent at the park?

Wheelchairs and electric convenience vehicles (ECVs) are available for a fee at Universal Hollywood's wheelchair/stroller rental facility located just inside the main entrance.

If it rains, will the event be cancelled?

Event occurs rain or shine. Sorry, no refunds will be available for this event.

In the past Halloween Horror Nights referred to the experiences as “mazes.” Why are they now called “houses” and what’s the difference?

Universal Studios Hollywood refers to the experiences as "houses" for continuity across both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort since they share many of the same experiences. You can expect the same level of terrifying excitement you've always experienced during this event.
